SRINAGAR: Two journalists were bereaved on Sunday. In both cases, they lost their fathers .In Srinagar, Altaf Qadri’s father, Syed Abdul Rashid Qadri died peacefully Sunday morning at his residence. Altaf said he remained unwell for some time. Altaf is a staff photographer with Associated Press.Kashmir Press Club said it is saddened at the passing of the father of photojournalist Altaf Qadri. KPC management and journalist fraternity prays for strength to the bereaved family.Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, a Shopian based reporter, lost his father to Covid19 in SKIMS today. His father, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat was running a weekly newspaper, Awami Moazin.Bhat, 68, lived in Nakhasi Mohalla, Shopian. After contracting Covid19 on May 18, he remained admitted to SKIMS Srinagar for around 10 days. Family sources said he passed away at around 4:30 am, days after testing negative for the Covid19. He was late to rest early Sunday at his ancestral home.Shopian Pulwama Working Journalists Guild has condoled the death of Bhat and sympathise with their colleague Gulzar.
